Year 10 Academic Extension Science Café.
The café is part of the enrichment program for our future year 7s. Our Year 10s engaged in innovative activities to develop their problem-solving skills and familiarise our 2022 Year 7s to next year’s content. The first café was exploring chemical mixtures while the second was experiencing forces and Newtons laws. The third Science Café (pictured) they explored Biology and Earth & Space, with food & drink provided. The idea behind the program is to engage year 6 students in science and provide mentoring for academically gifted kids. This sparks their interest in the subject, as well as gives them a prudent introduction & welcome to the high school setting. Overall, this was a wonderful experience for both the Year 6s and the Year 10 mentors!
