We have recently had the team from “Elevate” come out to the college and run a development course with our senior students on how to make the most of study. The students were given many helpful hints and tips on how to maximise their study time. Please find below the link to resources for parents and students to access and we wish them all good luck and clear heads in the upcoming exams.
Students have 24 hour access to Mathspace, which is an online learning platform which has questions that are directly linked to your child’s Mathematics course. Mathspace requires students to answer questions showing full working, just like they would do on paper. Each step of working is corrected and students are given instant feedback which lets the child know if they are on the right track. If they are struggling with the work there are hints and videos to assist them. Mathspace is an award winning program which students can use to consolidate their understandings and extend their understandings of Mathematics.
We have an amazing resource centre in ClickView which students can access from home to enable them to complete homework assignments, research or just for entertainment. ClickView is a fantastic site full of documentaries and films. Students can gain access by logging in with their username and password which all students should be familiar with. A new training tutorial is now available on Clickview as well as a new search facility called “Albert” – one can search by code, subject etc. This is available from the website www.clickview.com
If you have lost your password or cannot access Clickview, please ask in our friendly library staff and this can be emailed to you. Edith Cowan University generously sponsors Wanneroo Secondary College with this fantastic resource for our students and staff to utilise. Studiosity is safe. All tutors are Australian-educated and located, background-checked, and all sessions are monitored and recorded for quality control. With online, on-demand experts, there is no need to set appointments around family or college commitments, no need to travel, and no expensive, hour-by-hour limits. Students connect to expert Australian tutors for a conversation, the moment they need help. The Studiosity online experts cover core curricula, supporting coverage of all the learning areas students need through school and into the workforce.
Studiosity online helps:
- Students with understanding troublesome subjects
- Extend the reach of students and after school services
- Relieve the stress parents feel when trying to help their children with homework
- Strengthen your outreach to schools
- A complement to the public library resources with Australian curricula and Australian educated and located tutors
- Reach beyond our library’s ‘four walls’ into every home as kids log in to your website
- Provide the Web 3.0 experience that younger generations expect, prefer, and already use
