Science Cafe
The Year 10 extension students organised a science café in the Tuart block. This café is an enrichment program for our future year 7s. We showed them interesting experiments, like distillation, filtration, dry ice, and the flame test, while also providing food and drinks for the kids. The idea behind the program is to enrich and engage with year 6s as well as provide mentoring for academically gifted kids. This sparks their interest in science as well as allow them to feel comfortable and welcomed in a high school setting. Overall, this was a wonderful experience for both the Year 6s and the Year 10 mentors. We look forward to welcoming our budding scientists next year.
